In 1968 Pat Hession died in Vietnam, one of over 58,000 men and women who died in that war. I was in the Navy stationed at Naval Air Station, Lakehurst, New Jersey. I was shocked by his death. Pat was a friend and was part of the group that I had run around with in Chamberlain High School in Tampa, Florida. I have missed Pat all these years and occassionally mention him in a sermon in the many places I have preached over 28 years of ministry. Pat made the ultimate sacrifice and I will always be greatful for his service to our country. I wish he were still here, but he isn't. We must keep his memory alive as we should for all who have given their lives for their country.
